Will an FD downpipe/midpipe combination fit on my '88 turboII? i realize it may not bolt right up, but, what are the fitment issues associated with this problem? also, if it is possible, (within reason, not spending insane amounts of money), what gaskets would i need to make this work?

no...it will not work. on a t2, the exhaust side of the turbo exits straight out towards the back of the car. the fd dp has like a square inlet almost and the twin turbos make the exhaust head out towards the passenger side of the car, making the dp design completely different than an fc dp.
