+100 % The lines don't match. The FC is a balance between lines and subtle curves. Look at TT's door panels, the lines match. Unless you're going to replace everthing on the inside of the car, it's going to be an eye-sore. Even then, it won't match the outside.

You'd be better off trying to enhance the car, not hack it up into some kind of freak.

That's why I say modify the stock FC dash, easiest and has the highest chance of success at not being horribly brutal to look at.

didnt draggon put on in his n/a 20b fc, he said it went in easly,

just had to make wide mounting brackets because the dash was a bit narrower overall?

iirc his thread he said it was actualy easy, and he even had an FD cluster in it, just used a fd tailshaft housing on an fc tranny for the electric speedo hookup

I think the outside of the FC is curvy and I've added some curves to the interior as well. It's personal taste. Personally I think the boxy 80's dash looks like crap especially with such a sexy exterior and a partially updated interior so now I'm tackling the dash/center console area that I absolutely fuggin HATE! *shudders @ the mental picture)

Thank-you Midnight-Oil

yusoslo - Ima PM you with details of the telephone pole that was up my *** today - my bad - I re-read those after a cocktail and they were inappropriate so I apologize.

I would make a metal peice becuase they are thinner, lighter, and easier to manipulate. Getting anything to stick to them is the bitch part though..... ecept maybe after a spray on epoxy primer......

Regardless... I think.... I KNOW trying to fit an FD dash in an FC is a chore... a ROYAL PITA becuase like was said above, nothing lines up, none of the lines follow and I think it would be a step backwards. What I would suggest is to focus on the parts of the dash that you don't like and try improving upon something that already fits. Or..... start from scratch.

Then the question becomes is it easier to start from scratch or modify something and turn it into a plug? It is definately easier to modify something into a plug, pull a mold and pop one out.

I would be least worried about the e-brake for 2 reasons - 1) track car; 2) leather boots can hide sins

I would be more worried about what to do with the lights, signals & wiper controls.

He said it went in easily but look at how nothing lines up. Look at the piece between the FD dash and the windshield, not even close. Take a good look @ the door panels or lack there of. You have to cut the vent out to get the doors to close. While the FC dash meets on a 45* angle, the FD dash is virtually parrellel with the car or 0* if you want.

The dash is wider, on the tunnel and between the a-pillars.

I have a MUCH easier way to hook up an electric Speedometer. Call Speedometer Services, I can provide a number if you want, tell them you have an RX-7 and they provide you with a 3 wire sender that threads into the tranny

Thank you Flash

Seeing that it can actually be done is nice.. Don't think I would go as far as to go RHD. But I think it looks nice. I'd like to see it with the doors closed, If they close... My biggest interest in this is because I have to replace my dash and well if I am going to do something dumb I should do it now. lol
