FD corner seals and springs
I always thought that all you need is the FD corner spring, not the actual seal. I was just reading and people say they used FD corner spring AND seal. I am doing a rebuild and I already have the FD corner springs, but I bought stock FC corner seals with plugs. so would that work or whats the difference?

THe FD springs work fine with the FC seals/plugs. If you look closely, some folks call the fd springs the race springs. I have two motors at home plus a few in friends cars that have that comb and they work just fine.

I wouldn't rebuild a 2nd gen motor without using 3rd gen springs... They are MUCH better and they work great. The second gen springs are a peice of wire.. the 3rd gen springs basically look like a twisted lock washer, and are much more substantial.
