FD brake swap??

FD brake swap??
I've heard that you can improve your braking by installing FD brake calipers on a FC... A frined of mine says he has tham and they work great. What is reqired to do this (bracket ect?)

ummmm....i can lock up my stock brakes...well not stock rotors...i have slotted cross drilled...but complete stock brakes can be locked up...why bother upgrading...unless you want a different feeling

as i understand it, it kinda is about locking up, well, more or less -
bigger rotors will just give you more material with which to absorb heat. if you can lock your tires up, the brakes are plenty strong (at least initially) for your setup/grip levels.
if you find that your brakes are fading, then perhaps you could benefit from larger brakes. but if not, there is no real performance increase to be had, other than maybe brake feel, which is totally subjective.
also, better pads go a long way in increasing braking force, improving fade, and improving feel, IMHO

the fd brakes do bolt right up, no extra brackets needed. as far as performance, I didn't notice any better stopping power, but at the same time didn't notice any worse stopping either.. I haven't tryed locking my brakes up, never really felt the need to do so. they do look alot bigger on the car then the stock 2nd gen brakes do. overall I think if you could find some pretty cheap then there a good apperance upgrade, but I wouldn't waste to much money on them if your looking for performance.
