FCON Questions

So I've been running my T2 with an FCON for a while now, and just recently I've been running into this weird issue where the car is stupid fast 1 out of 100 times I give it the juice, and the rest of the time it just feels docile. I bring up the FCON because in my effort to troubleshoot my problem, I figured I'd unplug the FCON and see what happened. So I did, but the car doesn't start without it, do I have to unplug the FCON from the ECU? It seems to me that it's only spliced in and so it should still work without it, but perhaps not. Can anybody shed some light?

Thanks,
Sam
