fc3s foooookt in ireland
hi guys, i live in ireland and cant get anyone over here to help me with my fc3s, my prob is the car is slow to start and when it starts it runs ruff, i can un plug the trailing coils and the car runs the same, i can plug them back in and un plug the leading coil and it still runs the same, it has had a full rebuild in england 1500miles ago, i have put new plugs coils fuel pump and filter in it, i was told it could be a chiped tip is this poss, this is realey starting to keep me awake at night, any help would be a help, thanx
I would check the timing and do a ohm test of the CAS(crank angle sensor) it's the same thing as a distributer on a normal car. If I remember correctly form my manual, it should read somewhere from 110 ohms to 230 ohms to be within spec.
have you done the UNFLOODING PROCEDURE??
If it's an S4 then remove the EGI INJ. fuse and crank the car for 10 seconds (with the fuse OUT) then put the fuse back in and it should start. If it doesn't then try up to 2 more times following the same procedure.
If it's an S5 then push the gas pedal all the way down to the floor and crank for 10 seconds, let your foot off the gas completely and try to turn it on. Try it up to 3 times until it turns on.
If you already checked your compression, TPS, timing and they are within the specs and you still flood then I would remove the injectors and have them cleaned. I don't know anything about your neck of the woods so I don't know how fast/inexpensively you can get them cleaned but it's something to look into.
