Also wondering if these are still available. I'd buy a set at full price just so I have piece of mind.

Damn fc owners are a thrifty bunch. Such dedication. Never broken mine but I can feel how easily it can happen. Mega points to Leonel95.

hmm, i was considering updating them and casting them in aluminum but this doesn't give me confidence it's worth my time.

but i don't quite understand the necessity of a core for a cast part, infinite amounts can be made from one original. but at 10 bucks i can't picture that as a reason for lack of interest.

i've broken handles, it happens quite easily if you aren't paying attention and yank just a little too hard. even with everything working exactly as it should. i actually rather hate the fact that i have to treat the handle with kid gloves every single time i use it. i even find myself getting annoyed at passengers who aren't knowledgable of the issue too.

Awesome video for anyone at home who might want to try and tackle this themselves. Grant Thompson shows how to build a foundry to melt aluminum, and then its as simple as forming a sand cast mold of a handle. My guess is a half/half sand casting would work best.

This video is a little more advanced, since we dont need any cavities inside anywhere.

I would still be interested considering the oem ones are starting to be impossible to find new.
86-92 Door and Window Parts

You know you've got a captive audience of FC owners that keep swapping broken handles for almost-broken handles, and we're running out of almost-broken handles pretty quickly.
