RX7 over Teg ls never

I have a friend with a LS teg he has sunk a lot of money over the years stock bottom end complete exhaust totally redone heads. He runs fast but, I know a guy who has a 1st gen 7 and all he has is cat back kit cone filter set up and 720 seconaries and the LS with all its mods can only keep up not win (not downing them they are both faster that mine) and a fist gen is slower than our 3rds so you do the math his teg is a 96 or 7 not sure, body kit spoiler short shift 17's carbonfiber wings west hood EVO style. If you ask me you have to make a decision do you want fast good looking cheap and see a dozen just like it when you cruise or do you want exotic much faster capabilities and way better looking once bodykitted ($$$$$$$$$$is the only boundry) I think you should sell your rust bucket and find another that is in better shape and TII 89-91 are probly the best years of 2 gen If money and knowledge are not factors get a third gen best all around sports car ever. These compete with all the highend cars over seas and they do quite well.

I'm not sure why people are saying that the RX-7 will handle better than the Integra. Both cars weigh about the same, both have approximately the same wheelbase and tire width. But the Integra has undeniably superior suspension geometry.

As far as the FWD issue, it's not that bad. FWD drive can still be a blast. Although I must admit, I got my RX-7 because it was RWD (among other things) and I was bored with my FWD car.

it is more then just weight, it is the balance of the car and the rigidness which does vary by large amounts amoung vehicles. And a front strut brace will only do so much.

I would never give up your 7 for a non vtech integra, unless you plan on turbo for the non vtech otherwise they aren't that great, but consider a ls and put a vtec head on it those can be sweet

Ok, I downloaded this best motoring video off of Kazaa. It was a 200 Acura integra Type R (4 door) racing a 2000 Mazda rx7. The intengra was in the right up behind him at the start, but got in front, and stayed in front of the rx7 the whole time.

[QUOTE=ckyguy;2983575]Because the RWD rx7 SUCKS to drive on ice in the winter, I could therefore drive the integra year round.

lol sure FWD sucks at ice, i have better traction With my FC then my FWD daily driver i kept spinning out going 35mph on a FWD and with RX7 it was easy to control on any weather i dont know if i have use to driving my rx7

i dont trust best motoring they hold back in the race if you look at the supra vs rx7 vs evo in the racing in rain, tsuchiya holds back using the rx7, so i dont belive anything from them anymore well i see bought race

lmao...

its funny too, cause we started racing an integra about when this thread was started. race car before was an FC

similar rules, same minimum weight (2350lbs), fc is ahead of the LS by 15+ hp? remember we have rules... same size tires.

the honda was 2 sec faster out of the box, but we could duplicate those laptimes with an FC if we knew then what we know now.

the FC is FUN to drive, the honda takes a lot of concentration to not burn up the tires. our drivers loved the FC, but only like the honda.

the FC was more reliable, and cheaper to run, while maybe being a little more expensive to setup.

the integra is not very durable to endurance race, but we think it would make a nice cheap street car...

Plus, do you REALLY want to drive a Honda? (that isn't an NSX or S2000)

About how much is one of them going for right now?
Do you know how CHEAP it is to build an integra to handle and haul ***?

Cheaper than an fc.

The downside is FWD SUCKS and integras are a DIME A DOZEN.

Who cares though? Want an Integra? Buy one. Want an FC? Buy one. End of story. Who cares which one is faster stock for stock, or how fast one can be made? Because once a car is modded, all are on equal territory and potential is only as big as your wallet and/or skill. Case closed.

Its all preference. If the teg suits your needs/wants then go for it. A lot of people bash Hondas just cause other people bash Hondas. I personally think civics/tegs are really fun cars to drive. Yes I do agree that there are a lot of Dumbass Honda owners that fit the "rice" category but done tastefully and properly Hondas are great cars. Just need to think it through before you get rid of the RX so that you dont regret it.
