my buddy has a 91 240 sx coupe base
he has a k&n cone filterr and a dual exhaust from the exhaust manifold back
now when we race from a stop i walk him we do it every now and then and everytime i win
now whenever we go at it from a 60km/h roll on we go and ill be in front then boom he starts pulling and hell beat me every time

Think about how your vehicle is geared. 4.1 limited slip isnt going to help you out much, and then there are the gears in the transmission. I am pretty sure if you figure out the final drive ratios and do all the math youll find your answer. But thats just a start, sorry I dont have all the math formulas for you.

The 240 has a pretty short and low powerband, and is probably geared a little higher than the RX-7.

The RX-7 now has all its power in the top end, teamed up with a short rear end like Bruce said, and has pretty low gears until you get into like 4th or 5th gear.

The other 240 driver has no idea how to launch his car from a dead stop.

Yeah, the 240 driver doesn't know how to launch. The 240 has tons of torque, whereas the RX-7, well....

240s have an excellent third to fourth gear. These are the primary gears where he will pull on you.

He already stated in the first post: "my buddy has a 91 240 sx coupe base".

Base model 240sx has an open diff. Only the SE models have LSD. (Then again, there was also a LE model, but I don't know about that model.)

his 240 has 4.083 final drive
i didnt think that that was a large enough difference to account for such a big difference like i pull him hard from a stop but when were rolling he pulls me pretty hard

not all s13 240's have an lsd. only the ones with the super hicas package have it. all others had open diffs.

Is your friend with the 240 on NICO? im registered on there also, cause of my past 2 240's, and a guy asked a question about racing a FC, a 87 gx.

yeah he's on nico. That is the guy. I posted in that forum also "redrx7". We actually wanted to see why this was happening, but we also wanted to see which forum would answer the question better.
