The 15" BBS RS Type "Basketweave" wheel that came standard on the convertibles.

hehe, just messing with you, although I do think stock vert wheels are very nice.

Suprisingly, I have seen people use other FC wheels, like S4 and S5 TII wheels, which are a 16" and look quite good.

yeah, stock style wheels usually look pretty good.

I liked the look of the T2 wheel on the vert, but they are so damm heavy:

I have a two convertibles -- 88 and 91. I want to sell the 88with 5-speed. <edited, for sale ads should be placed in the RX-7s for sale wanted section>

"Vert" wheels are the ****.

Sorry to hijack but : Icemark i know you've done this... would you recommend a 225-50-15 tire on a "vert" rim? Would it be -better- than a 205-60-15 (factory size) tire?

I remember having problems with tire roll-over in hard corners with 225-50-15's on my GXL wheels (6" wide compared to 6.5" wide(vert)

Thanks
-Markus

When I had 225/50/15s on my GXL rims, there wasn't any noticable rollover in hard cornering, but I never chalked the tires either. I'm pretty sure with that extra half inch that there will be little to no rollover.

I was researching rims for my 88 vert but decided to go with stock BBS rims for a while for some reason. Anyway, I think BBS-ish mesh rims look good on vert.

Yeah, the BBS rims are attractive and are super light. I want to get a set for my car too for autocrossing.

The 6.5" width of the vert wheel should stop that. That extra 1/2 icnh does make a difference.

A 225/50 on a 6" is a little big of a tire for a wheel width that small.
