FC: vent out bov car dies..PLS help :(
hi you guys! new guy here to this rotary world
i've got a bone stock s4 fc t2.. manual
i tried to vent out the stock bov,
plugged the hole where the bov was connected to (air housing or the huge hose)..and the car dies...puts it back like the way it was, and it was fine..
does the small vacuum-hose connected to the stock bov suppose to have vacuum at idle? or only after high rev?
i really want that woooooshhh! sound... PLS Help! ^_^
i'm thinking of buying an after market bov like the hks ssbov but i'm afraid that it might have the same problem help pls

This problem has been covered many times before...
The proble is that the car uses a MAF sensor to meter the air, the BOV is AFTER the MAF in the intake train. Therefore, when the BOV acts, it messes up the ECU because a different amount of air than what the MAF told it is now entering the throttlebody/ injection system.
Also, you may have noticed that the stock BOV leaks air when it idle... this is why your car dies when you pull it out of the hole in the TID (turbo inlet duct). It is allowing unmetered air into the system AFTER the MAF, thus causeing a lean condition and a a poor idle (or none in your case) because the ECU thinks that less air is comming in than actually is.
You can't vent the stock BOV to atmosphere without a lot of plumbing help (one way valves, etc). However, you can plug the hole in the TID and use a BOV that seals tight under vaccume, I think the Turbo XS type H does, and the apex-i dueal chamber as well.
The hose to the BOV whould be under vaccume at idle (which is also why the stock BOV leaks at idle) ans pressure under boost (which keeps the BOV closed).

YearsOfDecay - thank you so much for replying, it all make sense now, it means alot to me knowing stuff about my favorite car... thanks you!!!...
by the way, i've been doing this researce for a while and also found out that since
the stock bov injects air before the and confuses MAF.. the ECU is programmed to let extra fuel to compensate the extra air from the bov..some here said that venting out bov may cause poof..poof at your tail exhaust (rich fuel during shift)
but pls i maybe wrong since i just heard it from someone..
Also..do you have any idea's where can i get this one-way valve??
some says they ends up wrecking their car or turbo with faulty one-way valve..
sorry for the whole messy msg... thank you again YearsOfDecay!!

Basically, the stock BOv *leaks*.
So you made an intake vacuum leak in the whole system.
The car does not like intake vacuum leaks.
If you wanna get away cheap, jack the idle up to above 1,000RPM.
