FC Turbo II Introduction / Help on 4K Hesitation
Guys,
First inrtoduce my 100% Stock FC TII From Chile (ex FL Car)
Second, would like to get some help regarding a Fuel Cut issue.
When car gets to 4K it wont rev up and is like hitting a wall, guess is a fuel cut issue.
And at the same time, stock boost gauge doesnt work in the Cluster.
This is what I found on my engine bay....

FCD is there and looks good, there´s an open white connect not in very good shape but plugged to nothing.
And also I see no restriction pill on the vacuum hose from the Intake to Pressure Sensor.
Would the lack of restriction pill cause the hesitation ?? Whats that connector for ?? Something else am missing ??
Thanks..!

Please clarify the issue: At 4k, does it hesitate and then accelerate again normally above that? Or does it hit 4k and stop?
1. Remove the FCD until troubleshoot and upgrade the fuel system/ecu. It is a very outdated band-aid and may be dangerous to engine health if you don't have other supporting upgrades.
It's also likely killing your gauge cluster boost signal and confusing the ECU.
2. The white connector is for the auto adjusting suspension system. There is no issue leaving it unplugged. The vacuum pill shouldn't cause the issue either.

Thanks for the feedback..!!
It wont rev over 4K, it doesnt really hesitate... It just hits a fuel cut and wont go over that...
What do you mean by upgrade fuel system / ecu ?? Get a new pump, clean injectors ?
I need an ECU Upgrade ??
Thanks a lot..!

The FCD defeats a fuel cut safety feature and allows the car to physically run more boost than the stock fuel system was intended to support.
If you want more boost, then you need a way to feed it more fuel. Your desired power will determine what is needed. I'd suggest driving it and enjoying it in stock form for a while before going crazy on upgrades.

Don't waanna mislead you but, I may have a new account but I've had an rx7 for the longest time with same problem. What happened was after 10 mins. my car would not go over 4-5k, and it decides to go on limp mode. Retraced every connector/harness and sensors also t/p sensor. and tested most, found out that my omp took a ****. knowing its electrical and not like the s4 mechanical omp, and did more research on on the site found out that with the s5 omp you cant have it fail.... correct me if im wrong gurus and flamers. but all in all what i mean is that it sounds like its on limp mode. since it wont go past 4k.

heres how to tell if it is truely "limp mode"
first and foremost, limp mode is an S5 ecu thing only.
if you have an s5, and suspect a 4k wall is limp mode... first of all its not 4k. its exactly 3500rpm. i drove a vert in limp mode for 6 months, i know limp mode.
get your car going in 2nd gear at a constant 15 mph.without pushing in the clutch, release the gas, turn the key off, count to 2, then turn it back on, floor it. you should be able to redline 2nd gear, before the computer turn limp mode back on.. you have about a 3-5 second window after the car is turned on...
like i said i got around town for 6 months by cycling the key beforedoing a 2nd gear WOT pull.
also limp mode is 3500mph or ~25 percent throttle, "
IF you can go WOT before 3500mph IT IS NOT limp mode. its injector, or injector ground.
