fc turbo II engine tranny with 140,000 miles, buy or not?

hi everyone, i have 86 GXL stock with 83,000 miles, manual tranny.
recently i found a engine swap, seller said pulled out from a running car, and it has 140,000 miles, not sure s4 or s5 yet, will find out soon.
i am thinking of buying it and take my time to do teh rebuild, for $500, is it a good deal? a engine that has 140,000 worth to rebuild? my budget is about $2000-$3000, my stock N/A engine should be good for another 3-4 years, so i am not in a rush of swaping it out.
does the housing need to be bored or polished, changing or rotor? under a 140,000 miles engine.

looks to be s4. 140k is a bit. see if you can get some compression numbers. should be do-able the way it sits. there is a bit more needed than the motor for the swap.
also you better plan on spending more that 500 for a rebuild. it all depends on how the insides are. if something is bad its gunna cost more.. are you mechanically inclined? it really comes down to the price and condition of the motor.

i will be bidding on it, the budget i planed on the rebuild is about 2-3k, i have never done a engine swap, but with instructions from forums, i am able to fix 90% of the problems from my family's cars, wiht the painteint and time, i should be able to do a simple rebuild(such as chaing bad seals, clean up carbons....) on a motor.

I suggest you get the Atkins rotary overhaul dvd. Very helpful for anyone's first rotary rebuild.
