FC Stock Alarm

Hi,

I have a 1990 RX7 Convertible (imported from US). I was wondering what the stock alarm does? If there is electrical wires torn, will this trigger the alarm to shut off the engine?

I could not find any information in the Haynes repair manual.

Thank you RX7 experts!

not sure... you mean if it has a starter kill?
be a good idea to add a kill switch anyways.. should help alot and you will feel more secure.

Well I think you set it on by looking the door from the inside then closing the door (everything else must be closed also like hood trunk). Youll see a orange light flash in the center by the shifter. That means that its activated. Then you can pound on the door and it'll go off beeping. To turn it off you unlock/lock from the out side using your key..

oh and I tried putting the key inside the ignition when it went off and it did nothing for me..

The wiring might trigger it..just depends on location I guess...not sure

I think its like that. I locked my self in my car talking on the phone cause my buddies kept bugging me and then they came pounding on my door and the alarm went off.

I've been reading your posts Soulja. It sounds to me like someone Ripped the ignition out,and broke some wiring.you are gonna have to Dig in and get a New Ignition switch/key assembly for the Vert..One thing to check for is to see if the Wiring is Damaged beyond the Connectors past the ignition switch(because it is easy to switch out the Switch0..and Honestly, you are just Putting up Blurbs of Info.Get some Pictures and Post them up to see if anyone with a "trained eye" can see what you cannot. It sounds like you are just confused about Why the Darn thing won't start(and it may have nothing to do with the alarm. It may be just a broken ignition wire).Cheers.STYX.

Stock alarm when triggered, only prevents cranking, does not prevent ignition or ACC from working
