FC questions...

its my first time buying a 7, always been a nissan guy. Im looking at a Turbo thats been sitting for years, needs all new hoses, belts ect. the oil has a gas smell so is that a sign of the motor going bad? figured id ask since im not familliar with this motors at all really. also, on the intake manifold, theres a siloniod with coolant lines going to it, the nipples have broke off since its been sitting so long. also, how hard is it to find a Maf? the owner said that went out before he parked it (in 1999 )

so ya, any help would be appreciated.
also, if the motor is bad, is there a place to pick up a long block for a good price in so cal?

The selenoid as you call it is a BAC valve, pretty easy to find in the FOR SALE section.

Get a compression test done to be sure the engine is good.

Oil smells like gas means it is/was flooded badly and the guy has not changed the oil

im going back to look at it again this sat (it was dark when i was looking at it, all i had was a flashlight) and ill check the compression then. i just wanted to make sure that the gas smell wasnt a sign that the seals were leaking or something like that.
