fc non turbo 2 a tii
I have found a fc for 300$, has no rust, no dings or dents, paint is in good condition, but it is a automatic (rebuilt 3000miles ago With all the paper work that it was done). Planning on selling the auto for manual, How much money could i get out of the tranny??
The car has a blown apex seal and dosent start.
I would like to conver it to a turbo 2 (motor trans diff) where could i get the parts?? how much will it cost me? and is it worth 300$ and putting the money into it to make it turbo??
Edit: it is a 88 with 120xxx miles on it. i will be doing all the work my self.

If the body/interior is in really good condition, and you have the money, I'd go for it. Then again, a nice T2 will cost you 5-6k, so you should ask yourself if the labor is worth saving a max of $1700.

well buy a T2 with a blown motor....have it rebuilt for 1500 bux........then do all the work and spend 800 bux in parts to replace, and you have a T2.......
GTUs shell=700 bux
parts and my labor=700 bux
I already had a T2 though.....and it had 16K on reman....so It was easier for me....
Everything I needed was from my old T2 and then I parted it out to make money.......I did all the work myself so labor= food and drinks for my buddy and my GF who helped me do the swap.
EDIT: oh and save another 500 on top of what I said for unexpected expenses....that's why my GTUs is ALMOST done......I need random little **** that I have no money for.....

Doing a rebuild is a great way to learn more about ur car, I would highly recommend it if u feel u know what ur doing. Definately get the video. When I did (still am) mine I bought the Rebuild Kit C from Atkins, comes w/ all the seals and gaskets for the whole motor. If ur going to tear into it u might as well replace all the little crap. For 300 bux u can buy that car. Then see if u can find a wrecked or non-running TII. That way u have a daily also. And 2 Sevens are better than 1.

I am almost complete with my 1991 NA coupe to TII. I spent well, over $4500 for all the parts. Good working parts that look good too. You have to basically use everything thats TII. The engine, tranny, lsd rear end, driveshaft, halfshaft axles, ecu, and TII harness. U need all that stuff. I busted a mission for my ****. Did I forget to mention TII Hood unless you go front mount which will cost even more? Well, its alot better getting a Jspec than getting a TII which will have like 100k and been raced out. Unless you want to get a TII dats already rebuilt that will cost you well over $6K and up. Depends on the money u want to spend. I heard a lot of Jspec is bad, but mine had good compression. I jus hope my Jspec will pass emissions when it comes around.

I'm doing mine out of my TII into my GXL. Then the GXL parts go into the TII. TII shell is crappy and the GXL has a good paint job. I'm also purchasing more parts because I want to even though its taking longer. So far its been fun and dirty, but this is the kinda **** I enjoy. Its a good experience.

let me show you what I did:
My old TII:
then I bought this GTUs:
and USED EVERYTHING OFF MY OLD TII to get this:
I could not salvage my TII hood as you can see, and my GTUs came with an NA hood.....at the moment I am using my Friend's white hood until I can buy a black hood, or get an FMIC.......

like I said earlier: save a little extra money for **** you are not expecting........right now I am still trying to get the car to run right(bad idle, timing is off and I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG.....I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING IN THE FSM TOO BTW) then my oil leak, and some minor electrical( headlight motors dont work, and then I have no interior lights or turn signals{tthe emergency blinkers turn on my RIGHT turn signal}the seatbelts dont move.......then I need an FMIC so I can return the hood....etc. etc.) have extra money or you will be 99% finished but unable to continue, like me)
