These weren't your local put-put karts I think I remember running 18 psi most of the time. It doesn't sound like much, but my kart and I together weighed about 260 lbs, so the footprint was pretty solid. The tracks were usually immaculate but on more than one occation I came out of it with a pretty sore back.

Edit: Just to clarify, this is where the information came from. I didn't start drifting until later when I started doing purely recreational off-road karting. At the time I didn't know of it as "drifting", just simply the only way to go around sharper turns. When I was finally old enough to start driving real cars, the practice just came naturally even though it was pavement. I didn't even hear it called drifting until several years ago when I started making different friends.

It looks pretty cool, but would it really be worth the trouble of getting all these different parts?

I kinda assumed you meant shifter carts of some sort. I know I've seen FK SCCA carts lift the inside front running through the cones, so there has to still be a fair amount of flex in the tire sidewalls to allow that to happen. I'll probably look more into the tire thing over break here, see what the GRM boards have to say about such things.

Roen - he may, I haven't followed WRC in a couple years. Still, its generally considered an improper technique.

Phoenix7 - +1

Benvprov - The 4th stage starts out with the very rare and cool Mazdaspeed GTC kit. After he crashes he gets an RE-A (Facer N-1) kit.

Well, since this thread has gone so far off topic, it's now closed...Cleaning it up would remove 3/4s of the content.
