I know for a fact that if I was to get a white FC I would make it like ryosuke's. I love Initial D. I'm not too sure why there are a lot of haters on the series. Most of them probably don't watch anime/read manga. IMO it's a lot better than the fast and furious series (which I love too). I imagine some of the parts could be hard to source though...

however when i started building my car i didnt have and still dont have the intent of making my car look like the initial D FC , post was meant to drag attention to the lip on my vehicle since there was a prior debate about what kind of lip ry uses in the initial d manga.

Yeah: ricers. Ricers imitating Brembo because paint is cheaper. Unless your car is red, then it's a paint theme. Is your car Fire-Engine Red?
I'm not a particular fan of 240s either since they're a dime a dozen, but I have to say his car does look original. That front end makes it look a lot like a MkIII Supra. If I saw it coming up in my mirror I wouldn't know what it was, and that is for a lot of people the goal.
For anyone without access to the anime and is curious about the white interior that's been mentioned, here's a couple of screenshots. I've considerred doing this many times over since my car is white; the two major things that have stopped me is stain control and the worry of getting sidetracked in the middle of a complete custom reupholstering. It's not exactly the kind of job you'd want to leave half-finished. I worried about glare for awhile, but since the dash is kept black, I don't really think it would pose a problem. Might be an interesting project someday.

I think the reason the original versions have such a high appeal is they take a step away from tradition. It's not about 12-yr-old schoolgirls in giant robots killing aliens, or vampires killing demons with giant swords, but late teens and young men men driving real cars in real situations (before the police started cracking down over the past decade and the installation of speed bumps). It's relateable and at times actually educational.
And for a lot of us it has a special appeal: we get to see our car in a cartoon Like several people here have said, a lot of people bought RX-7s either because of the show, or saw their car in a new light afterwards. For whatever reason, a lot of RX-7s have been saved and cherished because of the manga/anime, that would have otherwise been passed over or neglected to rot.
Hate the show if you want, but it's made a contribution to the car, and this forum.

Me neither, I've always been a big fan. My guess is most of the people that hate it either don't watch/read it, or did see it some of it, but the English dub, which is a horrible concoction of terrible lines, terrible music, and an overall forced attempt at making the anime 'gangsta'. Square peg, round hole, big hammer, worthless result.

thanks meatwag. I heard some guy talking about doing a real life inertia drift at 80mph. The only cool thing about the whole anime is the partly shitty animation (don't know if it gets better in the newer episodes) showing the FC and FD. The same applies to the live action Movie. Good Rotary Footage, THAT'S IT.

****, I seen Kevin Landers' brakes and I ended up falling in love with that clean look they give. I guess everyone here that has done it, are ricers.
I do have Brembo rotors. But I didn't paint the calipers for that reason.
Paint theme? You again sound like a ricer. Now get back to going on why you like Intial D and try not to get butthurt over the comment I made .
