units??? I think you're referring to schools that have a 12 = A GPA scale, which mine does. Just divide by 3 and you'll have your GPA on a 4 point scale. And the insurance company should have a a piece of paper/card that will ask for a semester's transcript with the initialing of a guidance counselor/student advisor. Just ask them about it and they'll probably just give you one..

Yeah, I was worried too little units would not qualify. I did 15 units last semester and got over a 3.0 but this semester, I'm taking it easy and going back to work with 11 units. Anyways, I'll talk to my insurance agent about it.

Thanks again!

About the units I am assuming each insurance company has a minimum amount of units you need to take or else people would take advantage of that and take one class they could pass with their head in the ***. Also state farm gives a discount if you have been in college fulltime for the last 2 years or if you graduated from a university or something to that effect. Quickly skimmed over some papers that came in the mail last month.

Since the FC is a sports car it's expensive to insure. Let me put it to you this way, with full coverage my '86 GXL (that's 17 years old) is $100 dollar cheaper to insure per 12 months than my 2000 Pre-runner. The RX is work $3,500, the Yota $18,000. I'm 26 with a clean record. So this week I'm dropping it to liability b/c the car isn't worth comprehensive & collision. Should drop my monthly payment from $125 to $50 or so.

Anyway, it will all depend on where you live, how old you are and what the car is worth (and sorry but at under $5 these cars are pretty much worthless for full coverage, you'll pay more in insurance within a few years than the car is worth). Of course if you're a kid and the car is insured under your parents name, it'll be cheaper and most insurance companies are different so my case isn't for everyone. But still, it surprised and pissed me off.

I currently don't pay for insurance but my initial payment for liability is around 124 and from then on it is about 86 dollars a month. I don't know if that is good but its the best deal in my town. That is the rate for when I was 18 it may be less now that I am 19.

i've got 2 tickets at 20 years old and those blood suckers want 1200/6 months. i paid 1600 for the car... so i say "Eat My Sh*t Insurance". they also charge more because i have no credit history, which makes no sense at all and has nothing to do with driving. i'm not covered unless i pay first so why should my credit matter? well it shouldn't so "Eat My Sh*t Insurance"

IMO something mandated by the government should regulated by the government. not cops pulling me over to see if i have insurance (cuz i don't) but federal agents raining down on insurance companies charging 1200/6 months of liability.

I have automatic seatbelts as well. Can you explain why you get a 15% discount? Is it because this pretty much ensures that you are always wearing your seat belt since it is automatic.

Also isnt it true that manual seat belts will hold someone better in the case of an accident?

I pay $320 CDN per MONTH for my GXL.

I had a discount for taking a driving course, but they disregarded it after I got a ticket.

I'm going to see if I can go for a course again and get my rates lowered.

i pay 195 a month... i'm 21. and that is only 2 mill libaility, theft and fire. No collision.

works out to around 1900 a year cdn.

Btw for a brand new Rx-8, i was quoted 2300, full coverage. 100 dollar deductable. 2 mill liabilty.

WTF? my FC cost almost as much as a 2004 rx-8 worth around 8 to 9 times the price.
