fc help needed!

so my buddy stoppped by yesterday to check out my new rx-7s. his car is a 1987 t2. he shut off his car and about 15 minutes later went to start it. he unplugged the fuel pump to avoid the hot start flood problem as he always does, however the car still flooded. so we went thru the unflood procedure several times but it just kept flooding. i noticed that the cooling system was really pressurized, so i began a
compression test. front rotor was 75 75 75 rear rotor was 50 50 40 and testing the rear rotor i had combustion pressure escaping thru the cooling system. this was all done cold. is the motor in need of a rebuild? what couldve happened? thanks!
