That's the only way unless you wanna do a street port I mena there are other ways but the most cost efficient is a streetport/turbo

Keep in mind that if you go the turbo engine route, you will need the turbo engine harness, ECU, etc. to go along with it.

shoot if you got 2k, and our gonna go turbo, might as well just start shopping for an actual TII.. keep your eyes open and you can get one for cheaper than what you bargained for..

2k should get you a JDM TII engine + the parts to complete the swap. (not including labor). Problem is those Japanese engines usually have dried up seals which will probably start going on you in less than 50k miles. A rebuild is usually at least 1000 so if you do go the route of dropping in a JDM TII you should look into scraping together another 1000 to rebuild it. Your other option would be to drop it in right away and pull it out later when you do have the $ to do it.. But thats alot of extra work that could be avoided while the things out of the car.

Otherwise theres not a ton to do to the NA engine to make it faster aside from your easy bolt ons (Cold Air, etc).

for 2k buy a t2 motor here thats blown for around 600 or so buy a rebuild kit for about 1k or so and then sell or part out the motor u have and buy the ecu, boost sensor, airflow mete, and boost guage...run it on your stock n/a driveline forawhile till u get some dough for the t2 driveline.

for 2 k i could drop a brand new rebuilt t2 motor and all accesories just shop around i picked up a t2 longblock for 100 on here

and plz whatever u do dont buy a jdm motor unless its from a reputable source most of them are screwed from the get go and a totall waste of money.

if u need any help pm me
