My 1986 RX7 Project(s)

Sup rotary dudes.

I dont know anything about rotary engines or Mazdas. I bought an RX7 in Texas for 300 dollars because it was all there and looked to need minimal work, but it does have 220k miles on it. I have just started to dive into the project under the hood. I am posting this to keep everyone up to date on my project and to get help when I get stuck. I do have my handy dandy service manual, so that will cover most things, but some help from some rotary experts (you maybe) to simplify things, cause Im a dumbass. I will post a couple pictures now and then, show you what Im doing right and wrong. Also, if any of you have the parts Im looking for, I will gladly take them off your hands to make this car complete.

Well, thats it for now. If you have any comments, aside from f*** you dumbass, please let me know.

Nah

The seams on the bottom are lift points, plus the car is really light, and I have put it up there twice and havent seen any damage aside from a little bit of pain removed, but that doesnt matter, if I can get it going its going to get painted white.

And by the way, it is a N/A manual transmission car. Hopefully it will run today. Hopefully.

Bastardization of parts

I know it seems stupid, but I was to cheap to pay for a fuel pump. So I went to a junk yard and pulled a pump from a Lexus ES300, since it produced 41 psi, which would be in the range, maybe. Im going to be testing it in a few minutes here. Also, I got a new starter off of a small mazda car engine and swapped over parts. I like doing things for free or cheap. Anyone have any reccomendations for a cheap exhaust system? Thanks again rotary people.

awesome! i think my car has been setting since 98 or 99, but it only has 111k original miles on it, and only 1 owner (some lady) who babied it until it finally lost all compression, im hoping once i rebuild and change the fluids, it will run decently until i can afford to buy new or good condition used parts. btw it looks nice! keep us posted

the cheapest exhaust would be a old muffler from 1 and the piping is a straight shot almost ( i think 1 bend) to the pass side
