FC handling improved with no rear sway bar?

I tried posting this in the race section but only got one answer so; I've recently heard that FC's handle better with no rear sway bar. This seems counter-intuitive to me. The Fc is an understeering chassis and more rear bar usually gets rid of understeer. I've heard this stated as internet "fact" but I'm having a hard time believeing it. Anyone have any informed or semi-informed opinions?

It all depends on what spring rates you have, they can be made to handle well with or without. No rear bar is just compensated for with stiffer rear springs.

Well if you take the rear off it will give the rear more traction but understeer will be somewhat of an issue depends on you driving. But the rear is on to help take away understeer and also give the front more traction.

I have a stock front swap bar and no rear sway bar and it handles very well. I also have pretty damn stiff springs. In fact, if you push/jump on the car the only movement is tire flex, so I guess the sway bar isn't really needed in my case. Actually, if anything, it has a tad bit of trailing throttle oversteer. A couple times recently I took a corner faster than I wanted and backed off mid corner only to have the rear step out a bit. Luckily I know how to compensate for that but it could have been hairy for many people. Now I just keep on the go pedal in the corners

Yea springs do have alot to do with it, i raced rc cars for a while and can use all the suspension tuning on real cars If you run stiffer springs in the rear that will take out understeer too.

remember, more rear bar adds oversteer.

Adding oversteer does not necessarily equal getting rid of understeer. You can easily make a car with tendencies to understeer badly, then whip out on you if you mess up the suspension tuning.
