FC Fuel Pump

Last friday night i went to start the car, it fired up right away as always and then died out of nowhere. I try'd to restart it...nuthing. The motor cranks and cranks...but will not turn over and start up. Im thinking either a clogged and or busted fuel pump.

I have done a little bit of searching to see about fuel pump installs on the board because im sure the topic has been discovered before. Im intrested to see if anyone can give me a nice detailed write up on the fuel pump install.

Also any other opinions and idea's for what to try to get the motor running would be great..

if the unflooding thing doesnt work check the relays ... especialy the fuel ingectiong relay or some **** .... its located behind the dash on the driver side .. i had a simalar problum ... a connection had shaken loose and thus stoped providing my pump with sufficwent voltage and then no fuel ... but yeah if u need more info on what im talking about pm me i might be able to help u a little further

You should confirm that before you replace a pump that might be fine...

Jumper the yellow fuel pump check connector in the engine bay (by the right strut tower) with a piece of wire and turn the ignition on. Open the fuel filler cap and listen for the pump. If you can't hear it you need to find out if it's an electrical supply propblem of if the pump really is dead. Remove the jumper wire when you're done testing.

If it's running and you want to check it's flow, disconnect the fuel return line on the engine (it's the one not connected to the fuel filter) and run a hose from there to a bucket to catch the fuel from it. Run the pump as above and measure the fuel flow. It should be over 1.3L/min for an NA or over 2.2L/min for a Turbo (it helps if we know these things).
