FC FMIC Throttle Adaptor
well to tell you the truth I get discounted machinist work at the University and all the r& d will be done for this pice. I am not personally in the way to start making and selling them. But like I said I would be more than willing to give the cads so that someone could find a machinist and make them it doesn't make too much of a difference to me! But I am not prepared to start getting them made... to much investment of time and right now I don't have much of it to invest we will see in the late spring!

We're trying to get a business going. I'm not trying to rip people off. I feel the pricing is reasonable enough. Yes, it's not the cheapest, but I will be reinvesting the monies made to make MORE products, which will benefit the FC community. Would you like to have a totally divided cast turbo exhaust manifold for $300 - an alternate to the HKS collected unit? This like that could become a reality, but if we're going to get cut-throat with the pricing, we would not be able to offer such exciting products to be made possible.

Aluminium's easy to work, so anyone good with handtools could do most of the fabbing and then pay someone to weld it up.
I agree, most people do look at the top brand names for parts that are easy to produce themselves...Or at least have it done.
I've been running a N/A adapter under 20psi for awhile now and its never failed. I recently started fab'n a BBK 5.0 Big bore TB template that bolts to an S5 manifold.... howz that for using shelf store bought'n bolt ons ?
Well, I figured I have a Wolf EMS stand alone ECU so why am I still using the OEM TPS? god there garbage! so I'll be graduating from the N/A elbow, but I highly recomend its simplicity...

It's easy to adapt a rotary-style TPS to the stock TB. There's no need to change to another TB.
Our TB's are already pretty big. Unless your new TB is over 70mm you're better off keeping the stock one.

NZ: Its bigger than a 70mm. Its for 5.0 Mustang w/ SC. BBK make after market TB's....anyway, I don't care for the oem TB garbage. When you see this done you'll dig it, and the best part is, its not alot of work to make this template , via aluminum. That was the topic of discussion wasn't it? making parts instead of buying them
Just BS ya... I'd much rather make things if I can.

Reted;
I was not braggin about my pricing, I looked into it today for a machine shop with the proper tools, and the proper operators the piece would be roughly 297.00 Plus taxes to create That is Canadian funds. so i would expect that to be similar in your areas, this is using my desing. I did not mean to be cut throat And nor was I dissing your pricing I respect you and what you are infact doing for the fc comunity!
I was simply giving another option for what they could do. I am not trying to step into your territory, and because you are a vendor, you accually might be able to use my desing and maybe get them made even cheaper if you make a good number of them! the testing of my pice will be done by january, as that is when my final project has to be returned to me! so If you would like I would give you my desing to use! Sorry if I stepped On your toes!
But just to reinterate the cost for a reputable machine shop to create this pice using my CAD's it would be 297.00CND Plus applicable taxes!

do u guys want it pre-drilled and taped for airtemp sensor or should i leave it without hole and everyone will make own (someone using stock, someone using haltech different size/thread sensor?)
I'll take one also, and I would like it drilled for the sensor, but its not a big deal is it isnt.. I can drill and tap it myself. When is productions going full swing, and they start getting sold? You have pics yet?
Could something like this be made to fit the FD UIM? I'm upgrading to the S6 UIM and I'd like to have some kind of elbow so my FMIC piping will clear the power steering pump. I don't know for sure, but I don't believe the long gReddy TB elbow will fit on the FC's that are equipped with power steering. I'm going to need a short adapter simliar to the one above, but have the FD TB footprint instead. Does anyone have any info for me that may help so I know for sure what I will need to get it to work? From what I've looked at with my car, that will be only way it will work as none of the FD elbows will allow for the FC power steering. The poweer steering will stay on, I'm lazy in my old age and this is my daily driver...
Thanks.

first prototype in hand, others ready to ship next week
need to make final decision about air temp location, if it should stay how its on original elbow or if it should be like its on prototype...

I am so glad to see that the gReddy FMIC kit fits on the S4's that have power steering. I have always heard that it will fit but have never seen a pic for the proof.
Thanks Higgi...
