FC electrical problem help! suddenly no juice whatsoever while driving!
Hey guys,
I'm sorry, as this may be a stupid question, but I am a first time Rx7 owner (88vert) and something crazy happened to me on the road today. As I was driving, the car suddenly died on me (thank GOD that the road was clear, as it usually is a very buzy NYC road) although for some of us rex owners, our cars stalling may not be new , the weird/stupifying part is this (and thus the reason why I post)
As I was comming to a stop, dropped the car into neutral and was braking (to stop @ a red light) the car dies on me completely, meaning 1. the engine stops 2. all my lights go off (including headlights, interior lights, aka NO JUICE whatsoever)
So, I figure since there's no juice whatsoever that it can only be a handful of things, so I open the hood and check the main fuse box (they're all good) check the connectors on the battery (again looks soild to me) ... ...
So, im frustrated, about to call friends to bail me out so, again in my frustration, I decide to hit my battery and my main fuse box, and jiggle some wires around LO & BEHOLD IT WORKS! my headlights & my hazard lights (which I turned on forgetting that I had no electricity) and I wearily start it up and drive it right back home. Now I fear to take it for a spin until I deal with this new problem. (not to cast any doubt on the good ol' cavemanesque bash method of fixing complex MechE / EE problems )
so here are the million dollar questions ... :
1. has this ever happened to anyone?
2. if im the retard (cuz this is a common problem and didn't search hard enough) can someone clue me in so that I can fix this?
3. where should I start looking?
Help!

not to sound like a reject, but in my life of driving i've had alternators die on me & batteries die on me (in various cars) and NEVER has the vehicle just died out on me in the manner in which my rx7 did

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
I'd also be checking the battery cable as it goes into the underhood fuse box. It is bolted to the main fuse, and could be having issues if the bolt was just slightly loose.
