fc dash buzzer while driving help

Hey guys, i just chasing the experts brain here, I had the beeping noise once before and couldn't find any fault and the only thing i could find was oil level was between add and full i topped it up and the beeping stopped. but this time i have checked everything possible and cant stop the noise except the oil is a tad (1mm) over full the beeping seems to come in after you drive for like 2 min or hit around 80kph and stays there till the car is turned off. it is not like the 108kph beep as that goes away after you go under 108kph.

the oil pressure and level is sweet, has coolant and isn't hot so whats the go how come this buzzer is on???
i dont really want to disconnect it but i cant seem to find the problem

This beep is 5 consistent beeps then a pause now i have found out that is related to the power steering sensors?
i have checked and topped up the fluid what tests or how can i diagnose this?

also while on the topic how do u stop the buzzer for the redline(revs) as it has big ports now and the 7 k rev beep is only just when it starts good crazy power

Brad

1-beep, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of speed sensor signal:
In case broken wires or short circuits occur to sensors or harnesses, the buzzer sounds 60-seconds after the engine speed signal of 2200 rpm continues for 18-seconds.

2-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of engine speed signal:
The buzzer sounds twice and repeats when the vehicle speed signal is missing input and/or no engine speed signal is found (short circuit, broken wire, etc.)

3-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of stepping motor signal:
The buzzer sounds when there are broken wires or short circuits in coils or harnesses.

4-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of the power steering microcomputer:
The buzzer sounds 4 and repeats when there are circuit troubles other than with the micro computer.

5-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of steering sensor signal:
Steering sensor is mis-aligned or failed or steering wheel has been improperly installed.

You're talking about 2 different problems right? One with the coolant/oil/redline buzzer, and one from the beeping power steering computer?

So have you reinstalled your steering wheel recently? If you have, you probably didn't line up the tabs properly.

my concern is the 5 beeps pause then 5 beeps consistently
NO i have not done anything to the steering except removed the lines from the pump when i rebuilt the motor as i left the pump on the engine and just disconnected the lines.
filled it up and drove now it is beeping. oil level is fine.
how do u realign the wheel in case that's it???

Also check the power steering computer to make sure that there isn't a bad connection on one of the plugs. Could be a melted terminal or something, I believe someone just had a problem with that.

Check the connections per FSM

You never mentioned what year it is, so here are links to both. Goto steering section and check it out.

I got that 5 beep alarm sequence when I installed a new steering wheel, misaligned it, and ended up breaking the PS sensor under the steering wheel. New sensor fixed it. When installing the steering wheel you have to be careful to get the 2 tabs lined up with the 2 notches or you will crush the plastic sensor.

That's not a "sensor", it's part of the combination switch and simply activates the turn signal self-canceling function.
I don't think that either PS system (engine speed or vehicle speed sensing) get any input about steering wheel rotation/position, so I can't see how that nylon part would trigger a PS fault code.

5-beeps, pause, repeat. In case abnormality occurs to steering sensor signal. The buzzer sounds 60-seconds after broken wire or short circuit occurs to sensors or harnesses when the vehicle speed is above 40Km/h(25 mph.)

I just installed a steering wheel with a cheap hub and must have damage that sensor cuz i have the 5 beep error code goin on. i put the stock steering wheel back on but it still beeps half the time. I couldnt find detailed instructions on removal of that part (in the fsm or haynes manual). any tips would be great, also how much is the sensor, what are they called exactly, and where did you get one?? Thanx

The part that the steering hub interfaces with is NOT a sensor, it's simply a collar that transfers steering wheel position to the cancelling unit on the column.
This collar merely sits over the column, with the steering wheel removed it just pulls on/off.
It's just a hollow plastic tube with nubs on either end, certainly under $10 at the dealer, I'd bet.
