Why wont the engine start? my car was broken into and they stole the radio. I put the key in and all the lights come on, but the engine with start? Any idea why this is occuring?

check engine fuses. might have popped one. also try unhooking the battery cables and putting them back on. might be the stock alarm if its not a fuse.

 

its an s5 convertible. Will the stock alarm cut off the engine?

 

The elctrical wiring was ripped off, do you think that shorted the engine fuses?

 

it could have. doesnt hurt to check it. is the engine spinning when you turn the key? any abnormal sounds?

 

nope, no sound. nothing. no click.

 

You said the electrical wiring was ripped off. What all was ripped off? Were actual wires torn out?

 

yes wires were torn

 

To allow the car to start once the alarm has been set off, open the drivers door with key, turn ignition almost to start position, turn back to acc on only, then put key back to off position, relock the doors, open the doors and the car should start right up..

I had to do this to get mine to start when mine go broken into. its a safety from the security system.

 

Well uhm. Your already looking at a pretty serious problem considering the wiring for your ignition is RIGHT THERE and is a common place for theifs to rip wires out when they try to take a car. Check the FSM to see what wires were broken, if their still broken. Have you repaired any of the torn wires?
