Cool FC alternator

so i no theres all the forums about replacing FC alternators with FD alterntors to fix the dimming n all those electrical uses problems sometimes but i was wondering if i stuck with a FC alternator n replaced it with a smaller faster pulley would it work more efficiently as the FD alternator or at least the same amount of energy current?

well the fc alternator will still max out around 60 amps( what ever it is) as it gets spinning a certain speed it maxes out even if rpms go higher( so it doesnt blow up!)

so id say driving down the road this wont help you at all, and it will wear out hthe alterator alot faster, as in high rpm it will be spinning tooo fast!!

but i supose on theory while idling it would be spinning faster and producing more amps while idling which would help you!!... which is probably when your experiencing the voltage dip and what not. sitting at lights at night with heater and headlights on and ect....

The FD Alt produces alot more charge. My Votls are at 13.5-13.9 with everything on. Before I would get down to about 11v.

Please read this thread before swaping to a FD Alt. Its only about what size pulley you shoudl use on FD alts.
