FB transmission in FC
Hi, I was wondering if a transmission out of a 5 speed fb will fit into my 5 speed fc? I have an 85 gs with a good transmission and my fc's transmission is going out. Will it work, if it needs moddified, what will it take? I did a search, but was mostly FC into FB. Thanks in advance.

Starter, driveshaft, clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder and mounts are different, as well as the shifter location. Also electrical.
So it's not a bolt in by any means.
But if you swap the flywheel from the 12A (balance issues? I don't know the weight of it compared to the 2nd gen flywheel) and clutch, the transmission will bolt to the engine. The rest is up to you.

when i did it i had no problem bolting one up to my fc. the only thing is that it set up a inch or 2 in the shifter so i had to cut some platsic were the shift boot hold against . but then after a few week i just swapped the tail shaft off of my fc tranny and bolt it up to the fb and then ever thing bolted up and sat right . the only thing that suck after word is that your 5k in 5th the hole time and it sucks up your gas
