Favorite Tires
Hey, my TII is in desperate need of new tires, but I'm not sure what to get. WHat would you guys say are the best tires for the money? I need some that I can hit the corners with that'll stick nicely I was looking at Kumho Supras, does anyone have experience with these? Also, can I put a slightly larger sze on my stock rims?
Thanks a lot

I LOVE the pirelli asymetricos. I have had the best results with these tires as far as cornering! I definately recomend them if price is not really an issue

I got the Brigdstone Potenza RE930's
Very good tires..grip beyond what I thought it would be,
And Nice looking treads hehe
Sell for around $115 each and up but you can sometimes find them for like $80 each on like tirerack.com.

Theyre designed for dry roads and I thought I'd be all over the road with them in the rain. As soon as it rained I went for a test drive. Car grips the road better than with regular all season tires. With my old tires (regular toyo tires) my back end would give out if I floored it in a turn. If I floor it during a turn with the Falkens, its harder to get the rear end to break loose and they stick pretty well while driving fast in the rain. I felt safer with the Falkens while driving in the rain

i currently have bridgestone potenza re-730 215-45-17 they work real well in the rain (which we get a lot of here) and they grip pretty good in the dry. before i got these i had the nitto nt450 205-40-17 they gripped alright but when all the tread wore off and they turned to slicks they gripped awesome on dry pavement but it was like a death trap in rain. i would probably buy the re-730's again even though to buy them i had to sell an old honda civic i had, they cost like $145 each.

The Yokohoma A520 were a great tire in wet and dryn conditions, but they only lasted me about a year. This included a season of Auto-X and weekend street racing. For the 225-50 ZR16 they were about $92 ea. I would launch just as hard as V-8's with Nitto Drag radials. Not too shabby i think.

I have run PZeros, Michelin MXX3 Sports, and Yokohama AVS Intermediates. The AVS's are not in the same league - they're more of a budget "ultra-performance". The PZeros are hard to beat for dry grip but they wear out FAST. the T1-S Proxes does what the PZeros do and the Pilots due, do it better in the rain, last longer and cost less.
I have 225/40/18's at all fours and the tires ran about $720.
the Toyo Proxes T1-S offers the most for the money. If you want to save a few bucks get some Nittos or Kuhmos. You'll probably be satisfied but if you step up for better rubber you'll know where it went...

I also use Kumhos because is the best bang for the buck. They also last, they have a high tread wear. Still using mine after 2 years.

i am very pleased with kuhmo products.
v700 on the track is a great inexpensive solution. i prefer them over hoosier since you get just about the same traction for the life of the kuhmo where the hoosier tends to decreace in traction as the tire wears. at max friction coefficient however, when the kuhmo lets go its gone. i am rerely able to gain control in a slide on the v700.
ecsta for the street. good grip, low noise, good wear, and cheap for a z rated tire. i like their forgiveness in a drift as well. i can drift on these tires accurately and consistantly as they ease into and out of drift conditions.
i tried kuhmo because of price and was very pleasntly suprised at their quality, both for a street and track tire.
