what is the hp diffrence if you put a s5 turbo in a s4 car
Like 15hp at the flywheel (if that). Removing all your emissions **** and getting rid of the belt driven fan would probably more than compensate for that 15hp.

there is accually a point where the turbo is not efficient anymore i think on the s5 stock compressor the mathematical limit should be arround 15 psi after that it is no longer efficient and will accually start to loose boost the faster it goes cause onse the tips go supersonic even the heat cannot stop them from going supersonic then you will run into problems. simply once those tips go supersonic they dont' produce boost anymore until they slow down.
that is why bigger turbos work better:
bigger fins on compressor + exhaust=more compression
more compression = more heat
more heat = higher supersonic tolerances
higher supersonic tolerances=allowances for more boost

i know this is all because i am taking some prequisite reading for aerospace engineering and turbine theory is a full 582page book.

hm. heh. supersonic? hadn't ever heard that a turbine/compressor wheel could go supersonic. Does that mean you stop hearing the whooosh?

no the tips of the compressor wheel go supersonic not the center only the tips.

Ran the 12.0 on bald S02 tires 245-40-17's with the stock IC (iced) not that it made much of a difference....The C-116 fuel made the difference because I could get some timing out of it......Oh and the motor was street ported by Mr. ASP racing.... He builds great motors....Actually mine was his first

The stock harness started to show its age and was wrecking ecu sensors so I've since ditched that setup for a Wolf EMS 3 bar computer, T60-1 turbo, Spearco FMIC, 1680 injectors....blah, blah

There are guys in PR running 11's with the stock turbo and a carb.....No BS!!! so 12's seems like old news....Those guys in PR really now there ****

Yeah, Jeff ran those times on a set of older Dunlop D40M2's if I recall correctly.&nbsp His 60' was 1.9.

My car's details are here:&nbsp http://fc3s-pro.com/PROJECTS/myfc.html

haven't seen this thread in a looooong time. For the record I've trapped 104 with the stock turbo and I think I can probably squeeze it up to 107-108 on the ragged edge. With a front mount I can see 12's without a doubt. On the stock intercooler and drag radials I think it's going to be damn close. Need to fix my rear suspension and learn to launch first

D40 M2's... the best tires I ever drove on. Better than the Yokohama 008's I once had.
