Question False Detonation. Strut tower bar playing tricks on my ears.

Just curious if anyone has had this same problem. I have a Cusco front strut tower bar and for the longest time I thought I kept hearing pinging. My AFR was safe and my boost was fairly low so I was very confused. One day while cleaning my engine bay I removed the strut tower bar and found evidence of gauling on the backside of the bar from the top of the alternator smacking against the back face of the strut bar. I have polyurethane engine mounts so that engine doesnt budge. It is an easy fix but wonder if any one has had the **** scared out of them too when giving full throttle in the FC.

right after i bought my TII, i was taking it for a drive, and i heard what sounded like a hammer banging on my turbo while under boost, but havent heard it since. I have lowered the boost from 12 to 10psi since then. I always wondered if that was detonation. I also have a 4 point strut bar too.
