O2 works great in rockets.
O2 will destroy any internal combustion engine.
(Too much heat too fast for the metal parts & lubricants.)

O2 is not flammable....it is an oxidizer.

since it is an oxidizer, would that mean it would instantly rust an engine? thank you for the link, helpful info. "vigorously accelerates combustion"

No problem. Instantly rusting, i don't think so. The chemical formula for rust is Fe2O3 (red rust) if i remember correctly. So, in theory if more O2 is present, then iron would rust faster. But as you stated only adding trace amounts, there is still a lot of other stuff in the mix.
