factory s4 alarm

is annoying.

just got my fc back from fab shop where they pulled all the interior out to install a cage. as soon as i hook my battery up, the hazards go on and security light turns on.

searching on this forum, i see there is supposed to be a 'box' behind the dash next to the speaker under the glove box. well, i dont see a box there. it could have been moved. i could just be blind.

id like a picture of this box so i know what im looking for, if anybody has one or could take one.

i dont want to be super hot japanese street racer driving around in my car with hazards always going off.

thanks for the help guys

There's a drawing in the Haynes manual, and likely the FSM that illustrates the factory location which is to the left of the speaker/amplifier housing on the pasenger side, which appears to be precisely where you looked. If it was apparently moved then who knows where it is now.

That's why I'm looking for a picture so I can better locate and destroy it.

lol i unplugged mine until i was bored one day & tracked down all the OEM security pieces within the car & made sure they were in working order-- now i've got working security. My bet is one of your door handle's security harnesses are unplugged

you could just disable it. unplug the rear hatch harnesses and ground them. the BCM will think the hatch is open and not arm the car when you lock it. while the hatch light will be on in the idiot cluster just remove the small bulb from that. boom. done.

The alarm unit sends a ground to the Stater Cut Relay which prevents the car from being started. To override this you can locate the relay which has one plug w/four wires stationed next to the Main Relay and jumper a wire between the Black/White wire and "a" Black/Green wire. In this relay plug there are two Black/Green wires and the one you select for the jumpering to the B/W wire would be the Black/Green wire which does not have battery voltage w/key to on (one B/G wire does have voltage w/key to on and the other does not and it this wire which does not is the one you use). Doing this and your car should start. Currently there is something about your alarm system which is preventing you from deactivating the system so you could start the car.

There is a relay involved which has two positions, one is don't start while the other is do start. When the alarm is activated the relay stays in the don't start mode. My suggestion to the original poster was to force the relay into the do start mode. Since this relay is part of the starting circuit only it does not affect the ECU except in a very marginal manner which relates to the fuel map chosen upon startup. Your problem appears to be related to the ECU in some ways.

Thank you I will try that probably tomorrow, I really don't know why its in don't start, it is honestly likely that the reason is because I always check my doors after I lock them? Another question, (as my car didn't come with the key fob) does the FC come with Keyless entry? Or is it just for the alarm

soo i tried that the starter relay cut

Uploaded with ImageShack.us and, it didn't work i have power to all emergency circuits such as tail lights, headlights, flashers, (but no turn signals) and door lights, but i have no dash activity, and no radio activity, the top wont move, and no starter engagement, or power to the fuel pump, i have not run a volt meter or test light to any of these functions but i know i cant here the fuel pump come on, and the starter dosnt do a damn thing, i will admit to a very noobtastic mistake of putting the battery terminals on the wrong way, but i don't think that would have caused a problem

Is the Main fuse good? Does the wire which comes from it have constant power? This would be the Black wire which is on the firewall side of the engine fuse box. This Black wire drops down a foot below the fuse box and mates w/another Black wire as they join together at a Black connector. Disconnected and the wire from the Main fuse has power while the other side of the connector won't. When joined together both sides will have constant voltage and when this happens the ignition switch is powered properly.

What happens when you use the key to unlock the drivers door? That should disarm it.
