I have a 87 N/A it has a cars & concepts glass pop up sunroof, I thought it was a aftermarket one someone added, well the glass part and frame blew off the car while i was driving and broke!!! I took it to a sunroof place they said its a factory sunroof and called the dealership and they have it, its $650.00!!!! Has any one heard of this and where I can get one cheeper?????

Wow! How the hell did it come off!? And sadly, this is the common dealer installed one that you really can't find anywhere else. My GTUs has the same one

 

Its actually the car I sold to a friend of mine, a girl, and she some how broke the plastic tabs in the front of the sunroof that holds it down and drove with them cracked the wind cought it just right and it was air born!
I called mazdatrix the guy said its extreamly rare hes only seen two or three of them...shes getting the car painted I think shes just gonna have the body shop tack in a piece of metal and paint it so its like there never was a sunroof.

 

I had one of those on my blue Sport. Not too many I have seen have these anymore.

 

cars & concepts is an aftermarket company that used to install sunroofs in most of the major markets back in the 80's and early 90's.

Your sunroof is aftermarket, not OEM

 

hmm....interesting I didnt think that it is oem but thats what the guy said and called the dealer for the parts....ill talk to him again.

 

I think Pacific glass or some company like that made a moonroof for FCs.

 

The old Pacific company made the factory panel glass replacement (as well as the original molds for a bunch of the RB body kit parts).
