factory engine apex question

Hey

Quick question, im gonna be getting a new engine from the Mazda dealership, i was wondering how thick are the seals on a brand new mazda factory rotary engine.. are they 1 or 3mm? and also if they are 1 can they handle the rb turbo back exhaust and intake? of course with larger injectors and fuel pump, also an afc and msd ignitoon..

thanks.

do i need to worry with the mods i have? meaning reliability wise? is there a big diffrence with 2 and 3mm? im not planning to run any more boost then 10 lbs anyways. i like my car how it is. most im gonna do is rebuild the turbo and maybe port out the wastegate.

thanks...

2mm will hold just as much boost and power as a 3mm, as well as give you more lower end power since 2mm seal better. 3mm just lets you make a mistake or 2 while tuning. or use out of spec rotors machined bigger to fit the 3mm.

hogging out rotors and putting in 3mm apex seals is huge rig in my book. Putting in 3mm apex seals is a small bandaid for a bigger problem. If your running the proper fuel you dont need the extra "cushion" that the 3mm are suppose to bring.
