F. Injector: Removing mixing plate/air bleed socket

Alright, I just started pulling my fuel injectors, and I did manage to get the air bleed socket off of the secondary injectors, but the primaries are giving me a hard time. Anyone have a trick to pull these things out nice and easy, without breaking them?

Why do you need to pull 'em out? To replace the o-rings? If they're stuck in there pretty good, there is a good chance you're going to break them if you just have to get 'em out...

I just figured I would pull them, make sure nothing is clogged or broken, and replace the o-rings while I'm at it. While I have the injectors out anyway, it seems like a good idea, is it overkill?

(BTW, a needle nose plier wrapped in duct tape did the trick for the secondaries, but these primaries seem a bit more stubborn!)

FWIW, when I did my first UIM teardown I wanted to replace the o-rings too. Mine were stuck pretty good like yours are though, so I decided not to chance it...

I waited until the rebuild to get 'em out, that way everything was apart and there was no chance of something breaking off and falling down in there. They were a bitch to get out in one piece even then, lol...

hmmm, sounds like I may be doing the same. I tried again, and they don't want to budge, so I guess they are staying in!

Thanks for the input Wayne.

If anyone else has an idea, or a "magic bullet" for this problem, I would love to know still.

Dude, leave them the hell alone.

Do you have any idea how expenseive those things are....if you break one your gonna kick your own ***.

I just rebuilt my engine and did everything I could to leave those things alone.

I didn't want to break one cause they are $$$ and I have a mazdacomp discount....

**** 'em. I took them out, no problems. I just took the top part off so the injectors are spaced properly. I have no idle problems, idles dead on 800 rpm (it was at that before removal).

But, I just pressed up on them from underneath, no prob.

Leave them alone. Unless you can push from underneath (requires removal of the lower intake, or VERY long fingers) then you will certainly break one. And since Mazda made them out of pure gold (or at least priced them as such) you DON'T want to pay for a replacement.

take the lower mani off soak diffuser's with chemtool, a couple times in an hour... put one finger in port, to push from below .. and use a small hook to pull from above... work slowly .. never broken one, personally... just be delicate.. if it don't move use more chemtool...

After another attempt, and all the discouragement you have provided...I will be leaving them in until the engine explodes!! I also didn't realize how much those things cost either, I figured it was just a piece of plastic or something, good thing I didn't break the first two. Thanks guys.
