BTW I am also now un-able to work on my car because of weather reasons. Namely rain and the fact that yesterday it was around 85-90* and today is is 49-55* outside. It has been raining for roughly 6 hours non-stop.

I would suggest using brake clean and some towels to clean the area pretty thoroughly. When it dries, try pumping the pedal a lot (it will take a whole lot most likely) so you can see where the fresh fluid is originating. Can't really tell too well what is happening without touching stuff, but it is possible that it's leaking from a seal on the parking brake attachment. Something that doesn't seem to likely, but I suppose happens. If that is the case, you'll just have to rebuild the caliper (a pretty simple job, just requires the seals from mazdatrix). Good luck.

 

Use a proper brake cleaner. Clean off all the leaked fluid, and then recheck it daily. That way you'll see where it's leaking from.

The spec in the FSM is 65-87 ft lbs. I found this to be suprisingly low, but that's the spec. Sounds like they torqued his nuts to more than 3X the spec.

Check to see if you need new rims as a result of this.

I doubt the brake issue is their fault. If the line broke just because they bumped it, it was already bad. It's possible they did something stupid, but it doesn't seem likely.
From one of those pictures it looks like you don't have proper caps on your bleeder screws. It may be possible that some dirt got on your bleeder screw, and your brakes have been slowly leaking since the last time they were bled. Even if it's not, I would replace those caps, they're prolly like fifty cents.

 

where do I buy new caps. i don't know that I have ever seen them. The lines are less than 2 months old and made of braided stainless steel. They are all ok tho. It is the caliper I am thinking.

 

Autozone/Pep boys/Advance Auto parts should have them. I'd check the section with all the "HELP!" stuff. If it's not there I'd just ask the guy.

I expect they're pretty much universal, and they probably get lost all the time so they should have them in stock.

Have you tried pushing on your pedal really hard and having someone look back there?

 

Like I said it hasn't stopped raining since 11AM it is 940 PM now.

i took a floor jack once and used a cheater bar and put the jack under the bar and pumped it up so it pushed up on the bar and it came right off
