Angry Fu*&ing Tire shop foxored my shiznit up!

Ok A while back I got my Potenza RE 950's and had them installed at what I thought was a reputable shop. I got lifetime balancing and lifetime allignment from them and had them installed.

Today I was getting ready to begin the drive shaft, lsd, tranny, and mount work on my fc.

BUT

To my surprise I find that on my rear driver's side tire there is a lot of some kind of "FLUID" From the location I can only assume it is Brake Fluid. I am about to go check on the level of this right now but I want to post this ASAP.

I took several pics. UNFORTUNATELY I could not get the foxin wheel off. They must have Tq'ed the **** out of my lug nuts. I even tried with a cheater bar. EG a 2 ft length of 3" pipe left over from making one of my CAI's. No go. I then tried the frond wheel. NOTHING all my weight(121'lbs mind you) and nothing doing.

Anyways I need some ideas on what it could be if it isn't brake fluid. I took some pics with my new digi cam and here goeslets hope imagestation stayts up today)

Sure looks like brake fluid in that area. Nothing else back there. ALWAYS have them hand tighten the lugs. They just hit them with an air gun and don't even lower the setting.
I usually take them off the car myself. Leave it on stands and run the wheels/tires to the shop. I even took my torque wrench with me when I bought the Michelin's for the Grand Cherokee. I just slipped the worker a few bucks and he was happy to torque the wheels down..

You just need a little more table muscle behind that, fatten up a bit, start putting on your winter weight.

be careful tryin to take them things off, they'll snap the thing off. I was helping a neighbor take of his tires to change the pads, and they had been air gunned on, and we were yanking on that thing, and it snapped

Put your cheater bar aginst the ground, and use the weight of the car.. roll it backwards.

jump on the bar....121lbs i could pick you up with my pinkey finger. nah im kidding, stand on the bar, and rock on it. sometimes i have to do that a bit. but 9 times outta 10 a shop that puts on wheels and such just put the lugnut in the gun, force it on the car and in turn cross thread the lugnut on the bolt.

Yes I have broken two studs on my friends Nissan. It was only me and him and between the two of us it snapped the stud in half. Good thing he was getting a new rear setup.(crashed the bitch)

I don't want to chance it snapping a stud or busting a lug. I would rather bitch at them there and have them fix it.

How would a tire change cause the brake fluid leak? Take the car and just have them loosen the lugnuts. Find the leak and fix it.

Next time, go to Costco. Cheap and good.

i saw fluid like this when i swapped struts... my stock rears were leaking badly.... the only difference is that my leak was further up but it did drop down to the bottom. Check the brake line for wheel rub... shouldn't be any... unless it got some how pinched... and that's not typically a slow leak... it's more immediate Check the bleeder valve and the strut.

yeah , its only a few bolts, just take a torch n heat it up, then loosen them. unless they stripped them.

you can also try smell the fluid to make sure its brake fluid also

i hate when those forkers just throw on the lugnuts with their 250lb impact wrenches turned all the way up. my buddy had a tire patched at a gas station shop and he asked them to use a torque wrench because last time he couldnt get the friggin lug nuts off. well guess what, the mechanic didnt even have a torque wrench but assured him that the impact wrench wouldnt make it that tight.....riiiiiight...

te impact wrench did make it that tight ad then some i think tourque spec is like 120 or something like that dont quote me on that

Santiago

i had my rear caliper looking like that and it was just the bleader screw check that out first before you go shooting ppl

and its also time to go buy yourself a good impact wrench it will save you so much time in the end its worth the money

I personally installed the lines, pads, and rotors. me and wankel7 bled the system on all four sides. He checked for leaks and then I did. There is very little chance that some random occurance messed with my lines. It was the only time the wheels have been off since then. Also I don't think Tq'ing lug nuts to where a person can't remove then even with a cheater bar is rediculous and dangerous. What if i had blown a tire? I live 20 miles out of the city. I would either have to drive that distance and ruin my wheel or walk to the shop. How would you feel in that situation?

I don't meam a small leak. I meant tire shreading or blowing up kind of stuff. I do carry fix-a-flat tho.
