Yeah, I was concerned when I heard that the Wagners were $50 for 4. That's as cheap as the POS organics they were replacing!
They're holding up for now, but I'll definitely raise my sights when the time comes.

Okay, I finally got the hardware kit in Saturday. I've had ZERO free time.
The rattle is totally gone!
But I can't really report on the *thunk* cuz after I put the kit in, I found that the brakes are acting like there's air in the lines. I almost backed into a dump truck right after the kit went in! If I had a nickle for every time I've **** my pants in my 7, I'd easily be able to afford to get my BVDs dry cleaned.
And I've got a local lead on both Hawk pads and some 5.1 brake fluid. Now I just gotta find time to pick the stuff up and throw it in.
Thanx again to everyone!

Wile you are doing all this, check the front wheelbearings. If they need adjusting (preload) you can get thunks and clunks and other odd noises.
One comment on squealing, some replacement pads do not have the same size backing plate as stock. Really cheap ones can be visibly smaller in the conract area. The rotor will rust where the smaller pads do not cover the rotor. When you then replace those pads the new ones may be stock size. The outside edge now contacts the rust scale. Squeal!
