f***** up idle??

ok i just did a block swap in my 88 se. i hooked everything back up and whene i finally get it started it smokes a tad.(gues from the motor sittin for a while). then it kinda struggles to rev fast. i ran some atf threw it and let it idle for a while. then drove it around. it came to full power. but when i get back home the thing wont hold an idle for nothing. the timing is at 0. the compression is 95 on each rotor. i switched the tps sensor and the air flow meter. i started messin with the idle adjustment. the 8mm nut with the flathead in the middle. and i got it to hold somewhat of a idle but it jumps from 1,000 to 1400. what could this be?? thanks guys

Vacuum leak, or misadjusted TPS. Judging from the idle bounce is sounds as if the TPS is out of adjustment, but could also have an vacuum leak, because that idle seems awfully high

don't think it is the TPS,
most likely big vacuum leak(s)

Check for air leaks in the snorkel between the afm and the engine. If the afm door isn't opening at idle, it will cut your fuel.
