extra engine getting ready for a rebuild

before i take my engine up to fort wayne for a rebuild i was wondering what all i should do to safely support my addiction to boost

i will be running a greddy turbo kit the one thats like 3k =/
i will probably make a vmount intercooler
and thats all ive got so far (too tired to think)

my questions are

1.what injectors should i run?
2.should i run rtek 2.0 or a standalone system hopefully not cause im always busy at work
3. should i run 3mm apex seals or not worry about it
4. how hard is it to drive with a streetport

more to come leaving for work

1. Depends on the size of the turbo your looking to run. I'd recommend at least 1000cc secondaries.

2. Depending on how much boost your looking to run, I'd recommend going to a standalone. You have more control over the motor.

3. I've always been under the assumption that running 2mm seals was better for boosting. Maybe someone can correct me on this.

4. Depending on if its a "mild" or "wild" streetport, it'll be a little rough, but its usually nothing horrible. I know quite a few people that DD wild SP and half/full BP cars and don't complain. No personal experience so I couldn't tell you.

run stokc primaries, 1680 secondaries you can get them from www.injector.com

run a standalone. i have an e6x fs if you want. pm me

2mm seals should be fine

a street port should be fine for driving on the street. like the previous poster said, people street hbp and full bp pretty often... im sure a few people even street drive p ports

With the greddy turbo kit you are fine with Rtek 2.1 . It controls fuel and ignition without a piggyback. Some guy dyno'd like 340 with Rtek 2.0 and the 20G kit. 720/1000 is what you would need.

don't hate on the Rtek. It's fine for the power level that the Greddy kit will produce. Like I said, it gives you control over fuel and ignition without a piggyback, and it saves you half the bullshit of a standalone (low load tuning etc). It takes a long time to get a standalone to drive like stock, trust me, I've got plenty of firsthand experience tuning Rx-7's with standalones, including sequential twin and single turbo FD's.

If you know what you are doing or have a professional tune the car it can be driving just like stock in a few hours with a full standalone. Tuning boost to high ranges is what takes the time.
