expected power numbers from NO2 + street port

hi, on my friends 86 NA, we are doing a rebiuld on it with s5 rotors and "mazdatrix" street port (we bought the porting plate from them). we would also like to eventualy run a "WET" nitrous system, and i would like to know how much nitrous you could run on mostly stock tune (it has a TII fuel pump) and how much power would this engine make?

I also have a questions about nitrous. if the car starts to lean out under nitrous, could we put bigger fuel jets in to compensate?

we are also planing on making a electric aux port actutor system for the car, we plan to have it open the ports at about 2500 rpm.

There's an "everything you need to know about nitrous" topic in the Archives that covers the requirements pretty well.

Open the ports where they offer the most power and best torque curve. This is probably somewhat higher then 2500 RPM.

Dude, you're messing with poisonous stuff!

Yes, like aaron said, eletric aux should probably open somewhere between 3500-3700RPM. A little searching should produce the exact numbers when stock ports *start* opening and when they're fully open

ok, sorry for my typo, i mean N2O (two parts nitrogen, one oxy). and on that thread about nitrous it doesnt clarify wether you could run a larger fuel jet to help the lean condition. on the car we are going to be running the stock plug heat range, so i'm worried about a lean condition. he only plans to run a 50 shot anyway so were not going to worrie about retarting the timing. we alread have a TII pump in it so we have more fuel, and he is getting a S-AFC II to help with tuning.

and as for the aux ports idea, i was think i could piggy back off of the secondarys (3800rpm) to a relay then wire in one of those "universal" door actuators attached to a linkage that would pull the ports open.

The thread in the FAQ mentions that you should be using a wet kit to provide both fuel and nitrous as the safest way.

As with all tuning, you should start rich and then tune leaner until you are at a safe ratio that makes good power.

Not easily, no.

That's because the guy who wrote it is an idiot.
Yes, with a wet kit, you can simply jet larger on the fuel side to prevent it from leaning out.
You should be fine with stock plugs for a 50 shot. Anything more and install colder plugs.
Make sure the auxilary ports are open when nitrous is injected!
