Lightbulb Exhuast problem...

So I'm thinking about getting a TRUE dual exhaust for my Rx7na.
Is this a good idea or should I stick with the Y pipe?

everyones gonna chime in with different opinions...the performance difference is negligable between the 2...the true dual will be louder...

You want loud? Go single. Louder and lighter.

With just about any free flowing exhaust (single or dual) the 7 responds extremely well. The only one that I know of that has a dyno proven graph to go with it is the RB one.

Ok, I just noticed you have an NA. Get the dual so you'll have enough backpressure. Get the RB. Not the cheapest, it's quiet, but it'll give you power.

Since you have an s4, I recommend either the racing beat header or downpipe with their presilencer to replace the cat assembly. It is the only one I've seen that retains the stock aux port operation, plus it is of very high quality. After that, get whatever catback you want. They will all have similar power gains, so its more about how they sound and if you want a massive outlet. Corksport and the Apex N1 are both popular single's. Both are pretty loud but not horrible. They do get old on long trips, though. RB makes a good quality dual, as well as the apex N1 duals. I've also heard good things about magnaflow mufflers.

I don't think true duals are really necessary. It might give a few extra hp, but prob nothing noticable. If you are starting from scratch and what high quality stuff, you might as well get it, though, because its not going to be much more than other complete exhaust systems. Price them out and see if its worth it.

If you decide to get the RB downpipe, I've got one for sale. I have a presilencer, too, but its for an auto car and I haven't gotten a definate answer on whether or not it will work with a manual car.
I personally would reccomend you get the header, but thats just me.

Damn, just noticed you were in california. I think you'll have to keep the stock exhaust around for inspections since I don't think any exhaust system for the FC is CARB legal.

Go with a collected header and a y-pipe. I wouldn't recommend single on an NA since its **** loud.

My current exhaust setup:
RB Header
RB Presilencer
Borla Cat-back

My new one will be:
SDJ header
Corksport straight pipe
Borla Cat-back

I can run without a cat with a quiet rear muffler setup and still maintain a light exhaust. Singles are nice, but the more they have be resonated. Search under my name for my old Corksport clip. It'll give you an idea of how loud a single can be.
