Exhaust System Approval
Hey guys just seeing what you think of my exhaust setup i'm thinking about fabbing up.
So!
planning on running racing beat true dual headers (2in) - flanged from motor
down to 2in custom piping-flanged to headers, welded to 3 in. magnaflow high flow cats
magnaflow cats welded to those ^^ pipes and flanged at the other end (towords the mufflers) 3 in. piping still
3 in. piping (with possible resonators to reduce sound) out to 3 in. piped hks stainless high power exhausts. 3 in piping, 4 in tip.
my car is a 91 n/a coupe.
basically i was thinking this system for street use, but having the cat/ cat pipes flanged, i could run a test pipe at the track that i could just unbolt and swap out.
what do you guys think as far as function, coolness, whatever...?
sorry if it's confusing too =\ just a random thought that popped into my head.

I think it is too big for an NA, and will most likely lose power and gain noise. You should try to stick as close as possible to 2" OD piping. A muffler with a 3" inlet and a 4" tip is intended for a turbocharged car, not an NA 13B. I think a muffler with a 2"-2.5" inlet and a 2.5"-3" tip would be better.

Buying 2 cats for a true dual system may be a bit of a pain. They take up a bit of room and it may be tough to stuff em both in there and still have some good ground clearance. Not to mention the cost.

i used a header to a 2.5inch mufler (dynatech splitflow in place of cat) then 3 inch pipe to a single muffler and it was insane loud, not to mention the fact that i put my factory cat back back on due to it being faster with the factory muffs on there. big pipes suck on a n/a rotary
