what is the best exhaust system for an 88 n/a right now i have a pace setter header that will blot on to the main cat but for mufflers i haven't yet decided would a universal mufflers be ok and sound good and strong?? please help and give advice

Search around a bit.

 

Make sure to get some mufflers that are steel packed, not fiberglass. Magnaflow is one. Search and you'll find lots of info.
