Exhaust Suggestion
First sorry if this doesnt go here I'm still learning this forum. Anyways I have a 89 very non turbo and I just looked under the car to see why the pass side muffler was hanging and was that the weld holding the support to the muffler broke. No big deal was just going to weld it back on but then I noticed the short piece of pipe right before the muffler had a 2" hole in it so Im looking for suggestions from you guys for a very cheap replacement for the mufflers and that would replace the piece with the hole in it that wont be loud. Any suggestions for aftermarket (sites?) or should I post a wanted add and just get a factory muffler and pipe? Thanks

don't be cheap with your 7, go with Racing Beat
its something you'll learn about your 7 is that its going to cost you alot of money compared to those barbaric piston motors

How can going cheap on a muffler hurt the car? I looked up racing beat arnt they like $500 for the catback? Thats a 1/3 of what I payed for the car and I'm not putting that into some mufflers and piping. Also I love my piston motors

I've got an '89 'vert aswell
the previous owner went ahead and put flow masters on it,
she actually sounds really throaty, but it ran him 700, versus the 500 for the racing beat.
but I digress..
I believe Awddrift4's message wasn't exactly against the cheap muffler
but to that overall attitude... there seems to be a lot of it on the forum lately
check the for-sale on the forum
I'm sure there are quite a few lightly used/new in box exhaust systems, that can be had for a fraction of their new cost.

haha sorry man but a rotary is going to be loud with any aftermarket mufflers. the best sounding mufflers i ever heard on a 7 were...and im not joking....Bomz Racing!!!!! they were very deep sounding and not raspy at all. very clean sound and WAY cheaper than Racing Beat. they didnt even get the glass packing blown out so they are very well constructed.

I had a racing beat turbo exhaust. It sounded nice. Relatively quiet and doesn't create much of a disturbance. On my other car I put a single 3inch exhaust. I think it sounds better than the racing beat. Its also louder than hell. I've been pulled over once because of it. Didnt get a ticket though.
I think the racing beat turbo exhaust is a little overpriced. I mean $1k? comeon

build your own go to napa or your local parts store and get T304 stainless steel piping. B4 you go measure and map what you need. I no a few ppl that did that and it works fine. Just get a good muffler tip. Its ALOT cheaper, or buy a corksport exhaust system 2.5" its like 370 shipped. if you pm, me i can give you the site.
