Exhaust Sound.....
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make my RX-7 sound a little more aggressive without going to the expense of replacing the entire system or going to a cat-back system? It is a 1986 RX-7 with dual tail pipes. Thanks for any suggestions you all might have!

Well I have Pace Setter Headers $119 and the Monza Catbacks $219 and dual pipes all the back, I'd denfinitly say it sounds aggressive, very loud, attracks alot of cops, and all my neighbors hate it.

Well on th 86-88 cars yes it runs off back pressure, 89-91 cars it runs off the air pump and the acv. There is a way to open the 5th and 6th ports VIA the air pump on the earlier models, just search the Forum you'll find something

About removing the cats and the 5th and 6th port, I wasn't really payin much attention.I have a turbo, and didn't realize you are n/a.Anyways, you can free up your exhaust to a point, just make sure the 5th and 6th still function.

LOL! OK AE Turbo! All suggestions ARE welcome........but not all will be considered!! hehehehe Punching holes in my expensive to replace mufflers is not going to be the first thing that I do this morning, although I'm sure that would probably do the trick! LOL

Try removing the precats . That will change the tone some. The 5th and 6th ports should work fine even if you gut or remove your main cat.My bud (from the other post) just sealed off the end of the air supply pipe for the main cat .He has to put it back on once a year you know... Anyway , his ports open and close fine.
