....Jesus Christ! Is this guy for real?? There needs to be some sort of government screening process to buy an RX-7 now.

Thanks for the answers to my "non-drifting" exhaust question. I didn't realize the exit angle of the Apexi was so subtle, that looks like a good choice.

Steve

P.S. Vietboy -- If you are truly seriously interested in drifting, which I can understand, stop spending money on your car now, and get involved in AutoX. You have a SHITLOAD of information about car handling characteristics to learn before you start ramming your car into trees, rocks, cliffs, whatnot. Cones are much more forgiving. Note that this is NOT an invitation to attempt drifting at AutoX, you will get kicked out immediately. Rather, you should take the time to learn basic methods like heel-toe, trail braking, what oversteer actually feels like, etc, on a closed course, so you don't hurt yourself and/or others. Don't ignore me, this is the most important thing you will have read in this thread.

P.P.S. I spent my 400th post probably saving a life, can I get a medal?

Ok If you really want drift style exhaust. Lower your car enough to almost drag the muffler on the ground then drive over lots of speed bumps to bash it up. All the real street drift guys have jacked u p cans. Get an HKS or apex. Itll look nice until you actually start drifting. Then youll regret spending all that on a muffler.

... just so you know, the SilEighty was Nissan's attempt at building a car DESIGNED for drifting. Don't say that an AE86 is the best drifting car ever because it's not. The reason they're used so much is they're FR, and are cheap (before the drifto fad caught on)

Hopefully the little kiddies will stray away from drifting, after they wreck a few cars, or destroy a few $1000 body kits? Hey, we can hope.

I know I¡¦m new here, so I probably shouldn¡¦t say so, but Christ! You people went from mild poking to downright ugly. If someone is ill informed, offer better information or at least suggest some places to find accurate information. And try to do it without making yourselves look like asses. I¡¦m interested to learn about this stuff too.

Okay. I¡¦ve said my bit, and I¡¦m sorry if I¡¦m out of line. So, how¡¦s my spelling?

Who gives a rats *** if their labeled by their Japanese names? If people want to use the Japanese names let them. I hope u don't refer to 2nd gen Rx-7's as FC's.

I've already mentioned the bitch about the bad spelling, so I'm not gonna say anything else after what I just did.
But one thing, if your gonna go learn to drift, do it in a place no one is around and where u will do little damage to anyone else (or yourself). And please stray away from doing it on main streets. Last thing we need is a "profile" of a drifter being just about anyone in a japanese car. I hate having cops on my ***.

Dustin.

ae86's are NOT the best drift car. I dont know why someone would think they are, unless they watched Initial D and missed the boat completely. The point wasnt "AE86 is the best drift car ever, no FD, R33, or S13 can compare!!" the point was "Racing is 90% skill and 10% car"

We use SA, FB, FC, FD in the rx7 community as a quick reference to model. When not on this site, all I EVER say is RX7. I have never had someone ask me what kind of car I had and answered "Its an FC". Its an RX7.

Furthermore, and RX7 is an RX7 in Japan as well, so nyah!

This is a note on the GT-R R34. Yes they are AWD Im not going to dispute that. However it is possible to disengage the AWD system and make it a full FR. Its kinda silly considering all the extra weight but hey whatever floats your boat. Also the rear steering system can be disengaged, with some minor modifications (sticking a rod between the tires so they don't sway anymore) and then fool the ECU. Anyway from what I've read the drift of the GT-R is quiete good, however each car has its own feel during a drift and since i have never driven a GT-R I cannot say what its like.
